RAY.BBDM is currently managing a recruitment process for a large listed multinational company that leads the market in which it operates. Our client, based in Porto (Portugal), is looking for a Corporate Control Director.

The Corporate Control Director will hold a pivotal position, being at a crossroads of information coming from or being provided to financial stakeholders and upper management. All this information needs to be combined, controlled, and transferred into high-quality data to supply to the management to satisfy the ever-increasing informational demands of external and internal stakeholders, regulatory bodies, and markets. This position withholds significant space to take the initiative and impact the Company’s business and strategy.
Leading a dynamic team of experts in financial planning and modelling, Consolidation and IFRS standards, the Corporate Control Director will closely work with several internal stakeholders, mainly Finance Directors, Tax team, Investor relations, Treasury, and Process delivery teams. This position holder will be the key point of contact for external auditors.
Furthermore, the Corporate Control Director's activities (amongst others) consist of the following:

  • Adapting Group reporting tools and processes according to business and management requirements.
  • Monitoring Financial Planning and Management reporting.
  • Preparing Long-term Forecasts and liquidity Modeling to facilitate business decision-making.
  • Preparing quarterly consolidated financial statements.
  • Contributing to the Annual Report & taking responsibility for the preparation of Consolidated Financial Statements.
  • Key point of contact for external auditors.
  • Providing IFRS / Accounting expertise.
  • Leading, developing and building the Corporate Control team.

Role requirements:

  • At least 15 years of experience in a similar corporate position in a large-cap listed company, ideally coupled with experience in an international audit firm.
  • Relevant post-graduation degree and qualification in finance (i.e. CPA, ACCA, or equivalent) completed by an MBA.
  • Proven track record in building high-performing organizations and being a talented executive with significant business experience.
  • Expert-level skills (and experience) in IFRS.
  • Skills in Corporate Finance and Long-term modelling activities.
  • Proven leadership skills and team energizing management, identification and development of talents and building/leading teams.
  • Demonstrated success in the management of stakeholders and management of change.
  • Excellent communication skills with high proficiency in written and verbal English.
