RAY.BBDM is currently managing a search process for SBM Offshore, a large multinational company, that is looking for an Accountant Manager to join their offices in Porto. This Accountant Manager will have the opportunity to be highly involved in the challenging end-to-end transformation program (as part of the ERP implementation) of the Finance organization, especially regarding the Close and Accounting processes related to construction projects.
Reporting to the Head of Close and Accounting, the Accountant Manager will be responsible for:
- Reviewing Close and Accounting processes and propose improvements;
- Supporting Close and Accounting process documentation in close relation with the new ERP implementation;
- Ensuring internal control procedures are applied (IcoFr framework);
- Managing the accounting teams (day to day supervision, training, coaching, appraising and development);
- Contributing to structure and optimize the accounting team in charge of construction projects;
- Supporting ERP implementation for entities in the scope of construction activity;
- Supervising on a quarterly basis the submission of IFRS Balance Sheet reports sent to the Group consolidation team;
- Ensuring Group accounting policies are applied in the accounting processes of the relevant companies;
- Supervising the preparation, audit and filing of the statutory Financial Statements of approximately 30 entities under relevant standards (mainly IFRS);
- If needed, preparing accounting position paper to document non-recurring transactions with specific accounting treatment;
- Internal Tax reporting packages for relevant entities;
- Being the main point of contact of external auditors in relation to Group audit for construction projects, statutory financial statements and complex accounting topics;
- The financial information provided to our Joint Ventures Partners (liaise with Joint Venture Partners, ensure proper preparation of the Board package for the entities under a joint-venture agreement, etc.).
Job Requirements:
- MBA/Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance/Business School;
- 10+ years of experience in accounting/finance area ideally with management role allowing a good knowledge and understanding of Finance processes in an international environment;
- Solid accounting and IFRS knowledge (especially IFRS15 for long term contracts and IFRS16 as lessor and lessee);
- Solid experience in preparation of Statutory financial statements under IFRS;
- Experience in tax reporting requirements;
- Background in financial/accounting process optimization and continuous improvement will be valued;
- Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbally;
- Ability to work under pressure to meet specific deadlines, including in a turbulent/fast-moving environment;
- Analytical skills and critical thinking;
- Proactive team player;
- Well-developed stakeholder management skills;
- Availability to move to Porto.
